Jamshedpur: After a two-year absence, the annual flower show in Jamshedpur will return in January of this year.

The flower exhibition, one of the most anticipated events in the city, is put on by the Horticultural Society of Jamshedpur with funding from Tata Steel Ltd. and Tata Steel UISL. Nature enthusiasts will be able to view a range of flowers and fruits at the flower show, which will be held at the Gopal Maidan in Bistupur from December 30, 2022, to January 2, 2023.

To inform the media about the occasion, the Horticultural Society of Jamshedpur organised a news conference at the Beldih Club. A prize-distribution ceremony for the seventh Garden of the Year competition, which was held in January 2020, was also organised because the pandemic prevented it from happening the previous two years.

The mascot for the 2023 Annual Flower Show was also unveiled by the president Sumita Nupur, secretary Arvind Sinha, and chairwoman of the Horticultural Society of Jamshedpur, Ruchi Narendran. The 32nd Annual Flower Show’s theme this year is “Hariyali Se Khushali Hamari Zimmedari,” which will guide guests through various facets of maintaining greenery.

If the exhibition space were organised according to tradition, it would be split into two sections: individual (or amateur) and institution. Potted seasonal flowers, permanent flowers, potted fruits and vegetables, potted foliage plants, cactus succulents, bonsai, cut flowers, bouquets, and medicinal plants are among the categories that will be up for competition. The four-day festival will include crucial technical discussions with horticulturists. The sessions will discuss urban landscaping, soilless gardening, and novel growing techniques.

In the institutional category, there will be out-of-town corporate houses even if most of the individual exhibitors will be local.
In addition to the competitive displays, the show will have a number of booths featuring gardening supplies and nurseries where plant lovers can browse and purchase a variety of exhibition plants. The four-day show will also include food vendors. The evenings will be filled with cultural extravaganza for the tourists’ delight.
