Rishabh Pant, a renowned cricketer for India, received well wishes and prayers from all corners after narrowly escaping a terrible accident on the Delhi-Dehradun highway on Friday.

The 25-year-old suffered head, back, and foot injuries after his car crashed with a road divider as he was returning to Roorkee.

As disturbing details about the Rishabh Pant vehicle accident continue to emerge, the bus driver who intervened to save the Indian wicketkeeper claimed that Pant identified himself as the cricketer who helped India defeat Australia in the 2021 Gabba Test. The first person on scene was the bus driver, Sushil, who also helped the cricketer out of the automobile.

To save the cricketer, Sushil sped up to the car and shattered the windscreen. He claimed that following the nearly deadly accident, he was severely hurt and was walking with a limp. Sushil claimed to be travelling from the Haridwar side, whereas Pant was coming from the Delhi side. Sushil intervened to assist Pant after observing his vehicle collide with a divider at that point.
Pant’s car broke the divider barricade and skid for about 200 metres.

He is now not included in the Indian team for the forthcoming white-ball home series against Sri Lanka.

He is said to be in “stable” condition.

“Distressed by the accident of noted cricketer Rishabh Pant. I pray for his good health and well-being,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote on Twitter.

“Wishing dear Pant a super speedy recovery. Bahut hi Jald swasth ho jaao,” tweeted former India opener Virender Sehwag.

“Wishing you a very speedy recovery. My prayers are with you,” tweeted cricket icon Sachin Tendulkar as his former teammates also joined him in posting their messages for the dashing keeper-batter.

Former India batter and National Cricket Academy chief VVS Laxman said: “Praying for Rishabh Pant. Thankfully he is out of danger. Wishing @RishabhPant17 a very speedy recovery. Get well soon Champ.”
